Imagery Procedures for People with Special Needs:
Breaking the Barriers II. Dr. Cautela and Dr. Groden have
pioneered the use of imagery techniques for people with
special needs as a means of helping them cope with stress
and develop self-control. This video features numerous
training sessiions in which clinicians lead students through
imagery scenes.

A Different Journey, Program #1, "The Families". Five
families of children with autism tell of their journeys.
They discuss the period of wondering if something is wrong
with their child, the process of evaluation and diagnosis,
looking at potential treatments, and finally reaching a
point of acceptance. They talk about the joy of sharing life
with their child.
A Different Journey, Program #2, "The Real Experts". In
this video young adults and adults with autism and
Asperger’s disorder discuss what it is like to grow up with
their disorder and the adaptations they had to make to "fit
in".
A Different Journey, Program #3, "Current Medical
Knowledge". This is a series of lectures on the latest
medical information related to autism. Peter Tanquay, M.D.,
discusses the symptoms of autism and where the definition
and study of the disorder hare headed. Susan Smalley, M.D.,
discusses the genetic factors relating to autism. Finally,
Ricki Robinson, M.D., a pediatrician and a mother of a child
with autism, discusses the role of the pediatrician in the
early detection and treatment of the disorder.
