Community Autism Resources would like to thank all of the individuals, families,
teams and volunteers who attended our 14 th Annual Hearts and Hands Walk/5K
Run for Autism on Saturday, September 23 rd ! There were 517 people who
participated in the walk, 33 people who participated in the 5K and 80 Volunteers!
We are so grateful to have the many wonderful people who ‘teamed up’ to raise
vital funding, and who believe it is important to raise money that will stay here in
Southeastern Massachusetts, to provide services and supports for children, teens
and adults with ASD and their families, through Community Autism Resources.
Did you know that the Hearts & Hands Walk/5K Run for Autism and Family
Fun Day is our signature fundraiser? Although we are partially funded by
DDS, we depend on our annual walk, and the 5K Run for the first time this
year , to raise funds to continue to provide the FREE and vital services and
supports to children, teens, adults and their families, as they face the
everyday challenges of living with Autism Spectrum Disorders. All the
games, activities, prizes and refreshments are FREE to you, as a thank you
for your efforts in helping us take action and raise money for this event!
We ask all participants in the day’s events, including volunteers, to take a very
brief survey about your walk/5K experience! We already have a working list of
things that will be improved for next year, to make this event BIGGER and
BETTER! Please forward the link to all of your family/friends/team members who
attended the walk. Please help us make next year’s walk/5K
an even greater experience.
This year we had 41 teams/families who participated in the Hearts & Hands Walk
for Autism! 6 of those teams were Virtual Teams who fundraised, even though
they weren’t able to attend the walk/run! Thank you to everyone who formed
teams or who walked with their family members and friends, to raise much needed
funds and awareness. You made a difference for people living with Autism
